The UOM, the dream of the people of the region, is now a reality. It is actually one of the highest intellectual achievements of its founding father, former Governor N-W.F.P, Lieutenant G (retd) Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah. Malakand University (UOM for short) is a public university located in Chakdara, Lower Dir District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, Pakistan. The university was establish in 2001 and offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in various fields. Therefore, by 2010, the university had secure a place in the general category and was name “Seventh Place” by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.
